Sally Thorne – Workplace romance featuring rivals with a hate-filled backstory. Traditional rom-com format with clever writing, a feisty heroine and a happily-ever-after.  Liked it

the great believers

Rebecca Makkai – A beautiful novel of friendship, love and ultimately hope set against the tragedy of the AIDS crisis in 1980s Chicago.  Loved it

Along the infinite sea

Beatriz Williams – The story of two women, one in the 1930s and one in the 1960s, and their paths to true love. Non-traditional romance with stories that include married men, Nazis, war and tragedy.  Liked it

Ella Berman – A young Holllywood actress struggles with a dark secret that she’s ready to confront.   Loved it

Emily Henry – A romance writer who no longer believes in love and a literary writer stuck in a rut challenge each other by swapping genres.  Loved it

Ann Petry – The story of a single mother trying to raise her son in 1946 Harlem and the social injustices she faces.   Loved it

Gish Jen – Dystopian view of what America could become when privacy falls to government control. Bonus: great baseball content.  Liked it

Demi Moore – This guilty pleasure memoir dishes on her childhood, stardom and the 1980s Brat Pack.  Liked it
