It’s that time again. Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas.
You know the recipe:
Start with a former child star: Lacey Chabert from Party of Five; Danica McKellar from Wonder Years; or Candace Cameron Buré from Full House.
Add a cup of BIG CITY event planner, marketing executive, lawyer or writer career and a dash of huge project deadline and milquetoast/non-committal boyfriend.
Stir in a hometown where a holiday visit is past its expiration date and fold in drama with a struggling Christmas tree farm/resort/bakery/bookstore family business that requires immediate attention.
For the main dish, bake in an ex-boyfriend/high school sweetheart and add a flat tire emergency or raging snowstorm. Season well with a holiday festival. Remove milquetoast/non-committal boyfriend.
Simmer for one hour and 59 minutes, then finish with a kiss.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a secret-snacker or a binge-eater, these bits of confection are just the right treat. To keep track of all your options, download the Hallmark Movie Checklist app where you can find premiere dates, air times, trailers and a synopsis, as if you need one, of all your favorites. You can also keep track of those you’ve already watched (I’ve seen 86 of the 106 offered) although let’s be honest, they’re just as good the second (and third) time around.
For diehards, even more holiday movies are offered around the clock at Lifetime and Hallmark Movies and Mysteries.
Enjoy!
